ABOUT THEO

My sculptural work plays at the intersection of history and cultural relevance. I use clay as a medium to visualize the connection between past and present. My aim with this project is to bring focus to ceramics as an art form, and highlight current issues, along with their connection to the past. I take examples of ceramic works from the past, mixing the styles of these periods with the techniques and themes of the present. The subject of each body of work determines the form of the pieces and the issues considered. I hope this endeavor will not only educate people about the form, but will bring awareness to present issues and motivate people to address them.
